Pink Saturday---Pink Easter Grass

My sister, Debbie, and I were shopping recently. She found a sweet little basket to decorate for Easter…..all it needed was some grass. She chose green grass. I needed grass for my basket, as well. My sister watched as I reached for a bag filled with pastel pink shreds. “Are you buying pink, she asked?” I am, I replied. I think the soft color will compliment the patina of my old basket….pictured here sitting amongst the pink flowers on my needlepoint rug.

This is my Easter basket from my childhood. It survived my teen years by being the place where I stashed my make-up and hair items. I love the shape of this old basket. The colors have faded, but the pink grass adds some interest.

What color grass do you prefer in your basket?

Some pink roses from my garden.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I love your pink basket and I am a pink grass girl myself!!! (except when my oldest son was small, it was the usual green) but all pink for my girlies. Your roses are beautiful, and so is your little girl in her pink dress, what a cutie!

Molly is adorable! I'm so happy that you joined all of us for Pink Saturday. Roses are my favorites when I garden; however, I have an Edwardian home in a Victorian neighborhood so the yards are smallish. How did I remedy that? My whole yard, front, back and both sides are dug up and filled with flowers! YUM! Can't wait to see what you share with us again. Welcome!

beautiful blooms - and beautiful child!

The pink grass is very perky...I've discovered just this year my new favorite 'grass' - it's made from vintage books and sheet music - it's beautiful! Etsy can be a dangerous place to spend time.

We still use our childhood baskets, too. The grass is from the 60s, it's more like shredded wood and it's lots of shades of green.

Hi Kay, Now I'm laughing over your comment. At least my situation was just a cliff with flowers, trees, and moss below; no hot lava! LOL

Hi Kay,
you're not going to believe this...I had that same Easter basket when I was a young girl. I think my mother still has it at home. I'll have to ask her.

It sure was nice seeing it again!

Your post was full of pretty pink Loveleighness. Your grandchildren are beautiful too. It's so much fun to take pictures of kids, until they've had enough. An Auntie can never have enough though! I'm sure a Grandma can't either. Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

You're so lucky to still have that basket. I love sentimental things. I prefer no Easter grass...I still have nightmares about trying to vacuum it up when my kids were little. :) Happy Pink Saturday!

I have pink grass in my Easter basket, too. In fact, my basket reminds me of yours.
