PINK SATURDAY --- PINK BONNETS

Yesterday’s trip to the flea market was a successful one. I found several treasures, including the two items I’m sharing this morning.

The first was found in a box of baby clothes. I almost overlooked it, because it was so crumpled and dirty that I thought it was a scrap of fabric left over from cutting out a pattern…….but when I smoothed out the folds, here is what I found.

Don’t you just love the rows of lacy ruffles.

The second was neatly displayed on a shelf among other baby items. It’s sweet, almost rosy, color and simple lines captured my heart, and I knew I had to buy it.

It’s ribbon ties are missing, so until I can find a length of ribbon in the right color, I have attached two small, millinery flowers at each side.

I brought the items home and gently hand washed them. Then, I very carefully pressed them. They are very delicate………but very beautiful!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend,
Kay

Hi and thank you for visiting my blog - those bonnets are adorable. I love the shape of them, the lines. You must have the patience of a saint to have ironed them!

What a l♥vely Pink Saturday blog entry. This is the one day of the week when I get to sit for a couple of hours and soak in my favorite color. Thanks for being a part of that day☺

Those bonnets are precious! I never had a little girl and never got to buy a bonnet...sigh. Now, little girls don't wear many bonnets...they should.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful family weekend. I will be remembering my father who served in WWII, and praying for all of our military who are in harms' way.

I don't think I would have ever thought to smooth the fabric out to see what it was...but wow...it sure paid off for you! Those are just confections of sweetness. How beautiful!

How precious. Old baby clothes were so beautiful. Now they just put them in mini jeans and t shirts like little adults. How uncomfortable for the babies to wear jeans. They do look cute in them though. I like a baby to look like a baby.

Happy Pink Saturday and have a terrific weekend!

Maybe you could use a white ribbon and keep the flowers on the bonnet.
I'd love to see a little girl wearing those, they are awesom!

Wow, what special finds! I love the flower that you added to the second one!! How old do you think these bonnets are, and for what age of girls?

You find the most beautiful items; I guess I just don't 'see' the wonderful things you see as I'm browsing through a second-hand store. I think I'll pay more attention in the future, though. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures.

Pony Girl,

Neither of the bonnets had tags with sizes, but if I were to venture a guess as to what age girl would wear these bonnets....I'd say a three or four year old.

The lady that I bought the bonnet, with the flower from, dated it from the 1940's. The ruffled bonnet seller said that it came from an estate sale. She guessed it was from the late 40's, since it was stored with other items from that period when she bought it.

Have a great weekend.

Kay

You have a beautiful blog...I have enjoyed my visit and will be back often.

Hope you will stop by my blog and read about little Maggie.
This is an urgent prayer need.
I have seen the power of prayer over and over in the blog world.
I have a button for anyone that would like to add it to their blog.

Hi Kay,

The pink bonnets are so sweet. Are they made out of organdy? The designs and shapes are charming. You have brought new life to such a lovely finds! Are your granddaughters too old to wear them for a special occasion?

Thank you for sharing your creativity and gift for imagining potential!

Warmly,
Debbykay at Rose Cottage Gardens and Farm
