Pink Saturday---First Roses

Good morning and happy Pink Saturday.
Moderate temperatures and an abundance of rain have transformed the garden.

The arbor is heavy with beautiful blooms. The name of this wonderful rose is Zephirine Drouhin. It is a great choice for any spot that gets a lot of traffic, because it is completely thornless......no pricks as you walk by, and that's especially important if you have young children. I cut the blooms by the hands full, and place them in vases all around the house.....their fragrance is very lovely.

I hope that spring has arrived at your house, and Mother Nature has put on her finest display in your back yard, as well.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Kay

I'd like to thank Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting Pink Saturday. Please visit her here for links to all participants.

What a beautiful climbing rose! I'll have to look for that one to replace the one I lost. My daughter has a gorgeous yellow one and she gave me one for Mothers Day last year... but the dog dug it up; she was digging for moles in my garden so I couldn't fuss too much. Dogs don't really understand "kill the moles but not the flowers."

I especially enjoyed your post about blogging. You inspired me to try it! Since you told me you had a blog, I have been a faithful reader, lurking in the shadows too shy to post a comment. Finally I got my courage up and actually posted something. Pretty painless, but I have OH so many questions!

I don't believe I knew there was a thrnless rose. I am going to make a note of this. My arbor is out of control and partially dead. I may just start over! Thanks for sharing this beautiful rose! Thanks also for visiting. I hope you'll come back!

A gasp came from lips when I saw your rose. This is my most favorite rose in the entire world. It's nearly thornless state makes this and an amazing addition to the garden, and the aroma is heavenly.

Hugs!

Your rose is beautiful! We've not only had spring, we are into summer, I think. Over 100 degrees for a few days last week; supposed to be 109 on Thursday here. I think they are exaggerating...maybe just 100 or so. I love the heat; but, it's not conducive to lovely flowers. Guess we really can't 'have it all', eh? Nice post.
