VINTAGE EASTER BLOG HOP

A few years ago, I found some vintage yard goods with rabbits printed on them. Remember these cut, stitch, and stuff items? Well, here's one I've sewn and placed in a basket trimmed with pink blossoms and butterflies.

A spring lamb rests in a vintage porcelain basket adorned with a single pink dogwood bloom.

This old (slightly rusty) basket is the perfect place for timid little chicks to hide.

This was my childhood Easter basket. The colors have faded, but it still holds happy memories. I love the shape.

When my three sisters and I outgrew Easter baskets filled with chocolate treats, my Mother replaced them with little porcelain figurines. One year I received these bunnies. I love the sweet expressions on their faces.

Another year we all received sets of ducklings.

Trust me, I've had the bunnies and ducks long enough for them to qualify as vintage items.

I've shared some of my favorite vintage items as part of Anything Goes Here's

You have such lovely Easter goodies. Vintage is lovely - but vintage full of personal memories is the best!

All of your Easter displays are wonderful! How lucky you are to have saved some things from your childhood. My sister and I had those same chicks and ducks...wonder what happened to them? It was great to see them again. I loved your basket and the cute bunny inside!

How nice that when you outgrew the basket of candy it was replaced with lasting treasures! I adore the little chicks in the last photo! And the metal, rusty basket has to be my favorite and the brown shredded paper was perfect! All very nice ~ Happy Easter ~ Judi

I love the ducklings. I still fill an Easter basket for my daughter, even tho' she is 29! I'll never quit until I'm too old and forgetful to even know what the day is! This year she even helped select some of the things that will be there! Thanks for sharing. ♥♫

Hello Kay,
I so loved visiting you today (sorry if I'm late, by the way!).
I'm partial to the handsewn bunny, very Victorian and totally inspiring, but all your Easter goodies are gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing, and also for your nice comment about my vintage postcards.
Happy Easter,
Monica.

Kay,
I was born in Sept 1963 and I had the same Easter basket. It was destroyed in our house fire in July 2010. I am currently searching for another to cherish. It is how I found yours. I want to use it for my centerpiece. I have some leads. It is funny how we used the same basket for our whole lives and these days the new generations just want “stuff” that is disposable. No tradition! We all knew which baskets were ours (family of four children) just like we all had our own Christmas stockings with our names embroidered on them (hand sewn)! Love all the ducks and bunnies. I’m a duck and bunny girl too. Most were lost too. Brenda
